Our Projects

Smart Green Farm

This is one of the projects of Mashariq Company for Organic Agriculture. The project is located in the New Valley Governorate, Farafra Center, spanning an area of 1,000 acres. The project is being implemented in 5 phases over 3 years, with each phase covering 200 feddans. Medicinal and aromatic plants, Medjool palms, and Siwi palms are being cultivated; these were selected on scientific grounds in accordance with the project’s feasibility studies to achieve the highest possible return. The focus was placed on cultivating medicinal and aromatic plants due to the speed of their returns, as production begins 3 months after planting, and the crop is harvested 4 times a year. Consequently, this generates a quick return for the shareholders, with profits distributed in the first quarter of the year following cultivation, after the budget is approved by the Investment Authority.

Furthermore, the cultivation of palm trees, specifically Medjool, was adopted due to its high returns. In our project, we aim to move towards bio-organic agriculture that is free from any chemical substances. We have already initiated this by registering the farm as “Organic” through a contract with a company registered with the European Union for Bio-Agriculture. Consequently, products will be exported to global markets, resulting in increased profits for both the Company and the shareholders. We also aim to maximize the Return on Investment (ROI) by establishing and constructing a factory for the extraction of aromatic and medicinal oils, as well as establishing a sorting, packing, and packaging facility for dates to maximize the returns from production.

Project Description

This integrated agricultural complex in Farafra City, New Valley Governorate, spans 1,000 acres and combines cultivation with industrial processing. The site features medicinal and aromatic plant farming supported by drying units and an oil extraction factory, as well as date palm orchards complemented by sorting, packaging, and cold storage logistics to optimize value chains and overall profits

Project Initiation and Site Selection

During the planning phase, the company’s management exercised meticulous care in selecting the site, prioritizing high-quality arable land with sustainable groundwater reserves. The chosen location boasts fertile soil suitable for diverse crops and trees, backed by a continuous underground water supply. Ideally situated within a state-designated agricultural investment and animal production zone, the site benefits from water salinity levels between 300 and 500 PPM—lower than that of the Nile—making it potable and highly effective for all forms of agriculture. Furthermore, the land was acquired through direct allocation from the Governorate and has received all necessary approvals from relevant authorities, ensuring operational stability and legal security

The Company selected this land for the following reasons:

  1. The quality of the soil and its suitability for cultivating all types of crops, trees, and aromatic and medicinal plants.
  2. The area is distinguished by a continuous groundwater reserve.
  3. The land is located within the zone designated by the State for agricultural investment and animal production.
  4. The water salinity level ranges from 300 to 500 ppm (parts per million)—which is lower than the salinity of Nile water—and is therefore suitable for cultivating all types of crops.
  5. The availability of stability within the project, as the water is suitable for drinking.
  6. The land is a direct allocation from the Governorate.
  7. The land has obtained all approvals from the relevant authorities.
